Responsibilities
- Support a young man and provide some joint support for two other people in shared housing, in their own home and in the community if required.
- Prompting and giving minimal support with personal care.
- Support with clothing — washing, ironing, appropriate for weather and occasion.
- General room cleaning and tidying.
- Support with meal preparation and cooking.
- Interacting and encouraging communication.
- Engagement with activities.
Qualifications and requirements
- Self-motivated and well organised.
- Effective communication with families.
- Genuine interest in working within a caring environment.
- Excellent team player.
- Basic understanding of learning disabilities/autism and communication needs.
- Having a driver’s licence and car for work purposes would be highly advantageous.
Hours, pay and conditions
- 15 hours per week as part of a small team, with the opportunity for overtime and holiday cover.
- Monday & Tuesday 08:00 – 16:00
- Wednesday 07:00 – 10:00
- Thursday 16:00 – 22:00
- Availability for the Tuesday and Thursday hours is most essential for this role.
- Rate of pay: £13 per hour.
- You will receive 5.6 weeks (pro rata) paid holidays each year.
- This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS check, the cost of which will be met by the employer. There may also be opportunities for training relevant to your role.
