Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Scotland is seeking a Mechanical CAD Engineer for a 6-month contract. This role involves developing 2D and 3D CAD models, producing documentation, and supporting design reviews. Ideal candidates will have strong CAD skills (CATIA, SolidWorks) and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Flexibility in work hours is possible.

Qualifications

• Experience with Ground Support Systems or similar fields.

Mechanical CAD Engineer - 6-Month Contract (Outside IR35)

Exciting opportunity for a skilled Mechanical CAD Engineer to join a dynamic, innovative team in Scotland.

Location: Scotland

Rate: £60/hour

Location: Full-time on-site (flexible working possible)

What You'll Do

• Develop and manage both 2D and 3D CAD models
• Produce 2D drawings, manufacturing documentation, and BOMs
• Define mechanical and fluid interfaces
• Ensure designs are manufacturable and meet tolerance requirements
• Support PDR/CDR reviews with CAD visualizations
• Incorporate feedback from mechanical and fluid systems engineers

You'll Need

• Experience with Ground Support Systems (or similar experience in Nuclear, Oil and Gas, Industrial Lifting etc)
• Strong CAD skills (CATIA, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Nice to Have

• Experience with cryogenic materials, structures, or piping
