This part-time position involves planning personalized lessons focused on core subjects and life skills, aimed at students who are not attending school. Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Outreach Tutor to deliver tailored education packages to children and young people in the Hexham area. These learners are not currently attending school and may have significant additional needs, including SEND, SEMH and challenging behaviour. The role involves working in the community or within the students home, providing one-to-one lessons focused on core subjects such as Maths and English, as well as supporting with life skills and personal development.
As an Outreach Tutor, you will plan, create, and deliver highly personalised lessons designed to build confidence, engagement, and academic progress. You will play a key role in reintroducing structure into the students day, while also supporting both academic development and life skills. A strong commitment to inclusive education is essential, and experience with communication systems such as Makaton and PECS would be highly beneficial.
