Overview

Outreach Tutor / Outreach Teacher (One-to-One Support)

Location: Chelmsford and Surrounding Areas

Pay: £20/hour (Unqualified) | £25/hour (Qualified Teachers/Tutors)

Schedule: Monday to Friday | Flexible AM, PM or Full Day availability from 9:30am | Term-Time Only

Commitment: Monday to Friday Full or Half Days (typically 2 - 6 hours per day)

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Delivering tailored one-to-one sessions in core subjects such as English, Maths, PSHE, and more to secondary aged students from EYFS to Year 11 (including GCSE/Functional Skills).
  • Building positive relationships with students and their families to foster trust and engagement.
  • Adapting teaching strategies to suit individual learning needs and styles.
  • Supporting students’ academic progress alongside emotional resilience and personal growth.
  • Maintaining accurate session records and progress reports.
  • Using varied tools and resources to keep sessions engaging and impactful.
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified or experienced educators with strong Maths and English skills.
  • A background in working with young people — especially those with SEND, SEMH, or non-traditional learning profiles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a student-centred approach to learning.
  • Confidence working independently across different environments.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply — support available — cost £55.50).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
