About The Role

Outreach Recovery Worker (Maternity Cover)

Location: Southend on sea

Salary: £24,960 per annum

Vacancy Type: Contract

Are you passionate about supporting people experiencing street-based living? We are looking for an Outreach Recovery Worker to join our team, helping rough sleepers and beggars access services, build sustainable lifestyles, and achieve positive outcomes.

This is a maternity cover role running until 17th November 2026.

What you'll be doing:

You will engage directly with service users to provide flexible, proactive support, including:

  • Building relationships with rough sleepers and entrenched individuals, helping them access accommodation, healthcare, and substance misuse services.
  • Empowering service users to make choices, maintain change, and strengthen personal and social networks.
  • Collaborating with housing teams, mental health agencies, and partner services to ensure coordinated support.
  • Participating in street outreach, case conferences, street counts, and maintaining accurate, confidential records.
  • Working flexible hours, including unsociable shifts, across multiple locations to maximise service user contact.
