Job description
Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Outreach Worker to join our multi-disciplinary sexual health team, delivering inclusive, equitable and accessible services across Wakefield & surrounding areas. This role offers an opportunity to make a real difference within diverse communities, especially those at greater risk of poor sexual health outcomes.

The post holder will play a key role in promoting and delivering STI testing (including HIV and syphilis) and supporting wider sexual health initiatives aimed at raising awareness, reducing STI transmission, and preventing late HIV diagnoses.

They will work with targeted communities to provide advice, information, and appropriate outreach interventions, informed by the analysis of local data and make judgments and decisions about appropriate support and outreach interventions. The post holder may occasionally be required to support Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) sessions in secondary schools as part of Spectrum’s RSE Team.

The role also includes administrative duties such as processing condom orders, maintaining the C-Card database, and using online platforms to support outreach and engagement. The post holder will be expected to treat all information within Wakefield Integrated Sexual Health Service (WISH) as confidential at all times, complete safeguarding training (children and adults) appropriate to their role, and work in line with relevant policies and procedures.

Due to the job role and purpose, there will be a requirement to work outside of normal working hours. This would be to facilitate some weekend and evening events.
