A large health provider in Greater Manchester is seeking an orthopaedic casting technician or Nurse Associate to join their Trauma & Orthopaedic clinics. The role requires a British Orthopaedic Association Plaster Certificate and recent experience in plastering. Successful candidates will demonstrate a range of casting skills and the ability to operate autonomously under pressure. The Trauma & Orthopaedic clinics at The Royal Oldham Hospital are looking for an established orthopaedic casting technician or Nurse Associate who holds the British Orthopaedic Association Plaster Certificate and has recent experience of working in a demanding plaster room environment providing support to Trauma and Orthopaedic clinics as well as trauma in‑patients.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in a range of casting techniques including Fixed Rigidity Casts and have a wide range of casting skills with Plaster of Paris and Synthetic materials.
The ability to work under pressure, independently and autonomously and in a timely manner to avoid patients waiting unnecessarily must be evidenced.
Candidates need to be mindful that the post will require flexibility of hours across the working week between the hours of 8.30am and 6pm to meet ever changing service. Increasingly weekend and evening working up to 8pm is also required on an ad‑hoc and additional basis.
