Due to our extended service contracts with the NHS, we're committed to delivering a wide range of care for the treatment and monitoring of minor eye conditions.

A typical day will involve screening patients, coaching and training the wider team, whilst helping to maintain standards in the department. At Asda, we are passionate and committed to providing our Optometrists with all the training they need to fulfill their role and enhance their skills. We offer a comprehensive CPD programme and protected time for Optometrists to complete further accreditations funded by Asda, ensuring you have the full training package to meet the evolving eye care needs of our customers.

We support your development to reach your full potential, with access to in-store, regional, and home office teams for clinical and service-related support.

About You

At Asda, service and creating a memorable customer experience are paramount. You will use your clinical skills and passion to contribute to this goal. Working alongside an Optical Manager (a qualified Dispensing Optician), you will help create an environment of clinical and operational excellence.

You will support the department by coaching, training, and developing new patient services to ensure we provide the most current and accessible services to meet customer needs.

You will be:

  • A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
  • A registered performer with your NHS area team or health board
  • MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining, funded and supported by us)
  • On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD
  • Passionate about delivering a memorable customer experience
  • Enthusiastic about developing new patient services and shaping the department's culture
