A local healthcare federation in Bury seeks an Operations Team Leader to manage services like COVID-19 vaccinations and other operational areas. The ideal candidate will have experience in team management, decision-making, and an ability to work in fast-paced environments. This permanent position offers a 37.5-hour work week with a salary equivalent to A4C Band 6.
The Operations Team Leader role forms an integral part of the BGPF team, in the planning, development and management of key areas of service delivery, including and not exclusive of:
As Operations Team Leader, you will be an exemplar team-leader, with a history of strong decision making and service delivery/improvement, exceptional attention to detail and a high standard of written and verbal communication skills.
You will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a range of stakeholders, to deliver quality services to tight deadlines and contractual constraints. The role requires the post holder to be able to prioritise, be comfortable with autonomy, making service delivery solutions and decisions and to have a can do attitude at all times.
The post holder will work as Team Leader of the operations team in delivering a safe and effective service for the delivery of COVID-19 and other vaccinations.
In particular, the post holder will be responsible for:
Leadership, planning and delivery of the programme, making day to day decisions regarding the running of the programme
Ensure clinical and non-clinical oversight & governance is in place at each of our sites and ensure the efficient delivery of vaccination services.
Enhanced Access
Work with our current sub-contracted provider to ensure contractual requirements are being met during the handover period
Establish the new EA service directly delivered by BGPF
Other Services
Work as part of the Federation team to operationalise new services as they are introduced, turning plans into operational services
Ensure all new services are safe, effective and meet all clinical standards
Ensure that new services meet the needs of the commissioner - PCNs, ICB, Public Health and GM partners
Operational management
Work alongside the Programme Support Manager to:
Provide leadership, planning and delivery of programmes of work.
Contribute to decisions on day-to-day delivery of services and operational issues.

A GP led, patient centred partner organisation working collaboratively with our practices and our partners across health and social care to facilitate the enhanced delivery of responsive, high quality and innovative services across Bury and GM
A trusted voice for primary care providing at scale leadership and in partnership with the LMC and PCNs, able to advocate for and support our shareholder practices

Job Summary:

The GP Federations delivery of all other operational services including Respiratory Hubs, Surge Hubs, Community Gynae Service and QAS service.

Key Responsibilities and duties include:
Service Delivery and Operational Management
The post holder will work as Team Leader of the operations team in delivering a safe and effective service for the delivery of COVID-19 and other vaccinations.
In particular, the post holder will be responsible for:
Leadership, planning and delivery of the programme, making day to day decisions regarding the running of the programme
Ensure clinical and non-clinical oversight & governance is in place at each of our sites and ensure the efficient delivery of vaccination services.
Collaborative working with stakeholders such as NHSE&I, STPs and Public Health
Developing initiatives, collaborating as necessary internally and externally, to increase uptake
Ensuring that teamwork and staff management is undertaken in line with Federation values
Enhanced Access
Work with our current sub-contracted provider to ensure contractual requirements are being met during the handover period
Establish the new EA service directly delivered by BGPF
Support the Operations Manager in the set-up of governance and decision-making processes around the delivery of the contract
Recruit sufficient staffing for the new service
Set up dynamic rostering that meets fluctuating service demand
Provide day-to-day management of the service and other operations staff under the leadership of the Operations Manager
Collect and monitor patient feedback
Liaise with the Quality Manager over any complaints, investigations etc.
Liaise with practice partners to ensure service is meeting patient/practice needs and shape service appropriately
Implement service improvements

Operational management
Work alongside the Programme Support Manager to:
Provide leadership, planning and delivery of programmes of work.
Contribute to decisions on day-to-day delivery of services and operational issues.
Ensure the delivery of high quality, patient focused and cost-effective services.
Manage and coordinate necessary logistics and liaise with third party suppliers to coordinate stock, deliveries and transport of materials and supplies to the centre.
Ensure the services and activities are of the highest levels of safety and quality, provided by professionals with the right skills, attitude and values, and are cost effective and remain within budget.
Oversee the management of the rostering system.
Efficiently deal with crises, emergencies and contingencies with the lowest
level of disruptions.
