Job Description

This is an exceptional role for an Operations Manager with a proven track record in the building industry to join a successful, expanding, and progressive company. The Operations Manager will work alongside the Managing Director to oversee all strategic and day-to-day functions of the business, with the ultimate aim of increasing productivity and performance.

The successful Operations Manager will be integral to driving the business forward and will join the company during a period of sustained growth – with much more to follow!

Salary

  • Base salary – up to £50k depending on experience.
  • Performance-based incentives.

Role

  • Manage the day-to-day operational activities of fitting and development teams.
  • Take overall responsibility for resource planning of over 20 staff.
  • Ensure staffing resources are deployed efficiently and all staff are engaged in revenue-generating activities.
  • Develop operational KPIs to ensure the team meets operational and financial targets.
  • Ensure jobs/contracts are delivered to specification, on time, and within budget.
  • Capture all contract variations and ensure they are agreed with customers and billed accordingly.
  • Ensure adherence to all Health and Safety legislation and best practices.
  • Complete RAMS (Risk Assessment and Management System) before jobs commence.
  • Liaise with other senior management team members (Finance, Administration, Sales, and Marketing) to ensure corporate objectives are on track.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and care of all company assets, such as vans and equipment.
  • Report weekly to the Managing Director on significant matters and progress.
  • Create a strong customer service ethic within the Operations team.
  • Identify and implement efficiencies within working practices.

Person Specification

  • At least 10 years of professional operations management experience in the building industry.
  • Good IT skills – MS Excel, Word, and Project Management.
  • Experience using various systems.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Experience in a high-growth environment.
  • Ability to coach, lead, and develop people; build strong relationships across the organization.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Live within 20 miles of South Liverpool.
