Pertemps is recruiting on behalf of a well-established Equipment Manufacturer, looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join their site in Uckfield. This is a key senior role within a small, hands‑on organisation where leadership, flexibility, and manufacturing expertise are essential.

The Role
  • Full responsibility for day-to-day manufacturing operations
  • Lead teams across Production, Machine Shop, Stores & Logistics
  • Ownership of purchasing, facilities, and HSQE activities
  • Drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency initiatives
  • Manage operational KPIs, forecasts, and performance reporting
  • Play an active role in senior management and strategic planning
Experience Needed
  • Prior Operations Management experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of production, machining, and supply chain operations
  • Hands‑on leadership style suited to an SME
  • Experience with cost reduction, continuous improvement, and quality systems
  • Strong people management and reporting skills
Package
  • Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
  • £50,000 - £55,000pa DOE
