A precision manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Operations Manager in Fareham. You will lead high-performing production teams, focus on continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles, and manage production KPIs to enhance quality and cost efficacy. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering and experience in precision manufacturing, alongside a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading production teams in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Strong lean and change leadership capability.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing standards like AS9100, IATF 16949 or ISO 9001.

  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement.

Job Description
  • Lead and develop high‑performing production teams within machining and assembly operations
  • Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, including kaizen and tiered accountability
  • Own production KPIs and deliver measurable improvements in quality, delivery and cost
  • Define and deliver strategic investment plans, including capital projects
  • Support SIOP, MRP and capacity planning to achieve on‑time delivery
  • Develop talent through coaching, succession planning and performance management
Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
  • Proven experience leading production teams in a precision manufacturing environment
  • Strong lean, CI and change leadership capability
  • Knowledge of AS9100, IATF 16949 or ISO 9001
