We are looking for a hands‑on Operations Manager to lead all aspects of inventory management and site operations at our Doncaster Head Office.
Reporting to the Managing Director and managing a small on‑site team (including Supervisors and Production Operatives), you will oversee electro‑mechanical production, inventory control, and inbound and despatch logistics, ensuring smooth, compliant and efficient operations aligned to business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Lead and participate in Operations meetings, setting priorities, resolving issues and ensuring effective communication across teams
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards across all operational activities
- Implement and embed new systems and processes, including works order processing via NetSuite
- Liaise with teams in the UK and internationally to achieve operational objectives
- Liaise directly with customers to ensure high levels of service and satisfaction
Production
- Develop, monitor and report on KPIs to support operational and business objectives
- Plan and manage electro‑mechanical production schedules to meet targets and deadlines
- Report on site operations and KPI performance to Finance and the US production facility
- Support production assembly tasks when required
- Manage goods inwards, despatch and courier usage to ensure efficient receipt, storage and delivery of goods
Inventory
- Take full accountability for inventory across all locations and stages of production
- Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring regular reconciliation and control
- Ensure optimal inventory levels to meet sales demand, service levels and customer expectations
Health & Safety
- Lead on Health & Safety compliance both on‑site and in the field
- Work closely with Field Engineering management to ensure safe working practices
- Ensure compliance with all company Health & Safety policies and statutory requirements
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required to ensure the smooth running of the business
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Electro‑mechanical qualification
- Valid and current FLT licence
- ILM or CMI Level 5 qualification
- Several years’ management experience within a production or manufacturing environment
- Strong experience of inventory control and management
- Proven track record of meeting production targets and deadlines
- Experience with NetSuite, HubSpot and BreatheHR (highly desirable)
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- A proactive, flexible and resilient approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Confident relationship builder with the ability to influence and negotiate
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
