Job summary

A leading event water safety management company in the UK is seeking an Operations Assistant to support operational delivery at sporting events. Ideal candidates will be bright, enthusiastic, organized, and able to work under pressure. You will assist with logistics, maintain safety equipment, and be an active part of the water safety teams. A full UK driving license and an RYA L2 Powerboat Certificate are essential for this role, and you should be prepared to travel and work on weekends.

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving license required, ideally with experience towing.
  • RYA L2 Powerboat Certificate or above.
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with operational delivery of events, both in office and onsite.
  • Work with safety teams at events for hands-on experience.
  • Manage logistics of a fleet of boats and engines.

Organisation Swim Safety Ltd Salary £25,000 Location Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire Contract type Fixed Term (Full time) Closing date 13 March 2026 Interview date 31 March 2026 Job Description Swim Safety is the UK’s leading event water safety management company, providing and managing water safety teams across a range of mass participation & corporate sporting events.

Over the course of the summer season we will typically operate at almost 100 events in the UK as well as a handful of events abroad.

But it’s not just events, our Safety Boats UK division provides water safety services for PR shoots / stunts, construction sites and on TV & film sets.

As an Operations Assistant you will be :
  • Assisting with the operational delivery of events; both in the office and onsite
  • An active part of the water safety teams when onsite at events enabling you to gain experience across all teams
  • Working on commercial projects across the country with our trading division Safety Boats UK
  • Part of the team responsible for looking after kit and allocating it out to events / projects
  • Be integral to our boat & vehicle logistics, delivering boats and helping to initiate projects
  • We have a large fleet of boats and engines, all of which need regular maintenance & servicing which we carry out in- house
  • Providing admin support by assisting in the creation of operational documentation & risk assessments
Our candidate should be :
  • Bright and enthusiastic
  • Highly motivated, organised and able to work under their own initiative / independently
  • An excellent team player – being keen to get stuck into everything is key
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Happy to work most weekends over the season, alongside being happy to travel and spend some weekends away from home
You need to have :
  • A full UK driving license (ideally with experience towing)
  • RYA L2 Powerboat Certificate (or above)
