So if you want to be part of a diverse team where opportunities flow and fresh ideas are welcomed #JustAddWater.

Are you an organised, proactive professional with a passion for supporting technical teams and improving operational efficiency? We have a fantastic opportunity for an Operational Technology Planner to join our team based in Exeter. This is a great full‑time permanent role at £31,951 per annum plus benefits.

The Role

As an OT Planner you’ll support the Operational Technology Maintenance team with the planning, scheduling and coordination of work across our ICA assets and systems. You’ll liaise closely with operational teams across the business to ensure smooth communication, effective workload management and efficient service delivery.

You’ll also act as a key point of contact for administrative support, handling telephone enquiries, raising work and purchase orders, and keeping data and reports up to date. From managing vehicle compliance to supporting the supply of tools, PPE and equipment you’ll play a crucial part in keeping everything running efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Monitor shared inboxes and workflow queues, assisting with customer and operational queries.
  • Liaise with internal teams to maintain effective communication and support day‑to‑day operations.
  • Create and allocate work orders; support the scheduling of planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring SLAs are met and data is up to date.
  • Support ICA field teams with asset registration and record‑keeping in corporate systems.
  • Oversee vehicle compliance in line with South West Water transport policies.
  • Coordinate the supply of PPE tools and equipment to field technicians.
  • Arrange meetings, travel, accommodation and vehicle hire through procurement systems.
  • Raise purchase orders, manage deliveries and order materials and consumables as required.
  • Take minutes and record actions during meetings (occasional travel to sites may be required).
  • Produce and distribute regular and ad hoc reports for the management team.
  • Provide cross‑team support during absences or high‑demand periods.
What We’re Looking For
  • A good general education (including English & Maths); admin qualifications or training desirable.
  • Proven experience in a fast‑paced office environment, working independently and in a team.
  • Strong administration skills including accurate data entry, minute‑taking and record management.
  • Confident using IT systems and managing computerised files.
  • Excellent organisation and time management; able to prioritise and work under pressure.
  • High attention to detail with a logical, methodical approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive, adaptable attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Committed to health, safety and continuous professional development.
  • Understanding of IT / OT systems and ability to communicate their value and benefits.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally across operational sites.
  • Ability to obtain UK Government Security Clearance (SC).
Why Join Us
  • You’ll be part of a supportive, forward‑thinking team helping deliver critical infrastructure services that support communities and the environment.
  • We know that the support and commitment of our staff is key to our success, so you will receive the opportunity for ongoing development and training for a long‑term career with us. We’re one of the largest companies in the South West and are proud to have been awarded Investors in People recognition. In return we offer an excellent range of benefits, including:
  • Generous holiday allowance plus bank holidays.
  • A discretionary bonus.
  • Competitive contributory pension.
  • Share‑save scheme.
  • Various health benefits.
  • Well‑being support programmes.
  • A range of group discounts.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Financial support services.
  • And plenty more!
