Job Description

As a member of the Capital Markets (CM) Operational Risk Controls & Governance group, the Operational Risk Manager will support the delivery and continuous enhancement of an effective Operational Risk management program within CM Europe.

The role will work closely with—and provide direct support to—the Senior Operational Risk Reporting Manager in the execution of day‑to‑day and quarterly operational risk reporting, analysis, controls oversight and governance activities across CM and Functions.

This position is full time and will require you to work a minimum of 4 days in the office per week with the option to work one day from home.

What will you do?
  • Support the development, implementation and enhancement of Operational Risk Management and Conduct Risk reporting practices to committees, internal/external stakeholders, and senior management; to support the management and monitoring of the European businesses' Operational Risk and Conduct Risk profiles.
  • Support the maintenance and development of operational risk dashboards, analytics, trend analysis and thematic reviews.
  • Supporting training and awareness programs to ensure there is clear understanding of the importance of internal control management across the business including clear communication of expected behaviours and roles and responsibilities.
  • Integrate local business KRI programs with the overall Enterprise Operational Risk program with the objective of achieving compliance with latest risk management regulatory requirements. Develop linkages between local business strategy and ORC&G through periodic meetings and reporting.
  • Where required, conduct deep‑diving analysis on root cause and control gaps for material internal and external Operational Risk events.
  • Liaise with local as well as regional ORC&G teams to identify emerging risk areas and new risk indicators, providing data and analytics to support Operational Risk tools.
  • Ad-hoc reporting requests.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Business Studies degree or similar/equivalent preferred but not essential.
  • Solid relevant Capital Markets (CM) experience/Operational Risk propositions and frameworks.
  • Good knowledge of trading, lending and investment banking businesses with particular emphasis on the control environment as it relates to Front Office, Operations processing, financial and management reporting, and market/credit risk and compliance monitoring.
  • Good knowledge of Operational Risk management industry best practices for CM products.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills and the ability to produce high‑quality reporting.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
Nice-to-have
  • Strong organisational skills, detail‑oriented. Ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Team player with strong collaboration and relationship‑building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with risk systems such as Archer, EIM, ORMS or similar platforms.
  • General IT awareness.
