Role purpose / summary

We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical leadership and strategic guidance for the design, implementation, and optimization of OpenShift clusters as part of a major infrastructure migration project. This role will define the roadmap, ensure best practices, and act as the primary technical authority for OpenShift within the bank's enterprise environment.

Technical Leadership
  • Define the OpenShift architecture roadmap and implementation strategy.
  • Provide expert guidance on cluster design (multi-cloud, hybrid, or on-prem).
  • Advise on best practices for container orchestration, networking, and storage integration.
Solution Design & Integration
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineers, Automation Developers, and DevOps teams.
  • Ensure seamless integration of OpenShift with the bank's enterprise systems and security frameworks.
Performance & Optimization
  • Conduct performance assessments and recommend improvements.
  • Implement high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery strategies.
Compliance & Security
  • Ensure OpenShift configurations align with the bank's security and regulatory standards.
  • Support audits and compliance reviews.
Governance & Documentation
  • Maintain detailed documentation of OpenShift architecture and operational procedures.
  • Provide technical input for change management and governance processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in OpenShift and Kubernetes architecture and operations.
  • Strong knowledge of containerization, networking, and storage integration.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
  • Understanding of IT security standards and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
  • Certifications such as Red Hat OpenShift Administrator/Architect preferred.
