Overview

Job Description Summary: We are seeking an experienced Onsite Installation Technician with typically 4 to 5 years of proven mechanical and electrical installation experience, preferably within the transmission and distribution sector. A solid understanding of industry standards for electrical wiring and mechanical installation is essential to ensure quality and compliance across all projects. You will play a key role in supporting major Grid Automation projects by performing secondary circuit installation operations on-site. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of working on complex energy sector projects, demonstrating a commitment to safety and adherence to best practices throughout all installation activities.

Responsibilities

• Liaison and Communication: Close coordination with the site manager and project team to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines. Ensure effective communication channels are maintained for seamless project execution.
• Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all related site paperwork is accurately maintained and updated. Monitor adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies. Ensure all necessary equipment and tooling complies with the relevant regulations.
• Reporting: Provide regular updates to site manager regarding project progress, challenges, and resource needs.

Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of industry standards on electrical wiring and mechanical installation.
• Proven experience in mechanical and electrical installation within the T&D sector, or similar, typically 4/5 years of experience.
• Solid ability to understand and fault-find electrical scheme design.
• Proven understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver license.

Nice-to-have

• National Grid Person.
• NEBOSH qualification.
• Experience working with the National Grid and large-scale infrastructure projects.
• First Aid at work qualified.
