Job summary

A leading technology company in Bristol is seeking a PCB Design Engineer for a 12-month contract. The role involves creating and managing schematic libraries and liaising with procurement teams for component management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of PCB design flows and EMC principles. This position is on-site, offering a collaborative work environment focused on developing efficient PCB designs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in schematic and footprint library management.
• Ability to create footprints for multi-sourced components.
• Experience with controlled-impedance routing and EMC-aware layout.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage PCB schematic and footprint libraries.
• Generate and control Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Liaise with procurement and manufacturing teams.

Skills

Schematic and layout component part library creation and management

Development of in-house design constraints

Proficiency with Mentor or Xpedition design flows

Knowledge of HDI stack-ups

Strong understanding of EMC-aware layout
