We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Occupational Therapist to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lancaster Farms, a category C prison located in the outskirts of Lancaster, Lancashire.

HMP Lancaster Farm consists of 550 males.

As a Occupational Therapist, you will work within the mental health team working closely together seeing patients in the healthcare department, you will also be required to work on the prison wings.

  • Monday - Friday
  • 22.5 hours per week
  • Hours to cover 8am - 4pm

Salary:

This position is part time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £43,609 - £49,175 per annum FTE - depending on experience, this will be pro rota.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you’ll be doing
  • Be responsible for the provision of occupational therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation.
  • Provide visible and professional support to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and rehabilitation aimed at improving or maintaining independence.
  • Working with a caseload of patients with varying difficulties including complete health and social care needs; responding effectively to the changing needs of the patient caseload, managing the sometimes conflicting priorities of prevention of admission and discharge.
  • You’ll assess and order equipment as identified by patient need and allocate work to OT assistant or care staff as necessary. Establishing communication networks with other team members, patients and other health and social care agencies, attending joint visits with other professionals as required.
