Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Early Years Educator to join our friendly and vibrant team at Little Pippins Montessori Nursery to care for nursery children aged 0-4 years. We are looking for someone to join our baby room catering for children aged 0-2 years in our beautiful, former primary school, on the doorstep of Newby Hall Estate and Gardens.

We are based in a former primary school, dating back to 1857, it has a separate bay room with enclosed gardens. In the main building we have a Two-year-old and three-year-old classroom as well as a dedicated Montessori Classroom. Outside we have a playground and over 1.5 acres of grass and woodland with pond and vegetable growing patches. We are also incredibly lucky to have the grounds of the Newby Hall Estate to explore along with the support of the local community to welcome the children to the village and join in with regular events throughout the year.

We offer a blended Montessori approach and as such we are seeking someone calm, kind, gentle with a good sense of imagination and humour and who can dedicate their attention to the children in our care.

It would be ideal if the candidate should possess experience with all ages and have a sound understanding of safeguarding children, as well as understanding the EYFS to carry out a 'key person' role for their own group of children. A willingness to learn new skills and a strong passion for facilitating children's individual needs, keeping them safe and preparing them for their next transitions in life.

Requirements;

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare
• Full time
• 40 hours per week
• 8:00am - 5.30pm (Flexibility within these hours but no school hours)
• All year round
• Minimum of 1 year childcare experience with no employment gaps
• Happy to work outside (High percentage of outdoors learning)
• Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality childcare and early childhood education to children in a nurturing environment.
• Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and development.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive community.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the nursery.
• Assist in managing daily operations and contribute to leadership initiatives as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery space.
