Qualifications

Experienced Nursery Cook

Location : Burnham

Hours : 9 : 30am – 1 : 30pm, Monday to Friday

Weeks : 51 weeks per year

Contract : Part-time, Permanent

Start Date : ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Nursery Cook to join our clients Early Years team in Burnham.

The ideal candidate will have a background in meal preparation and food safety and will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for children aged 0–5.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook healthy, balanced meals and snacks in line with EYFS guidance
  • Ensure meals meet dietary, allergy, and cultural requirements
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation within the kitchen
  • Comply with Food Safety, Environmental Health, and Health & Safety regulations
  • Manage food storage, stock rotation, and ordering
  • Work closely with nursery staff to support children’s wellbeing and routines
Requirements
  • Previous experience in meal preparation, ideally within a nursery, school, or care setting-animation
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Good understanding of food safety and allergen awareness
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
Desirable
  • Experience within an Early Years or childcare environment
  • Knowledge of nutrition for young children
  • First Aid training
