Fixed Term Contract - Maternity Cover

Required for 23rd February 2026

The post will be a fixed maternity cover based in our nursery and supported by experienced support staff.

The successful candidate will need to be able to build strong and supportive working relationships with pupils, staff, and parents and nurture a love of learning in our children.

School overview

Ravenswood is a large primary school, based in Heaton just next to the Coast Road. We have over 600 pupils with a Nursery and three form entry throughout Reception and Key Stages 1 and 2. We have a wonderful diversity of pupils and incredibly supportive parents and carers. We have extensive grounds and a thriving extra‑curricular provision. Our nursery area supports up to 48 children with some children attending Monday to Wednesday lunch, other Wednesday afternoon to Friday and some children attending full time. We have large indoor and outdoor spaces and a focus for the school this year has been to build on our outdoor learning.

Safeguarding

The school is strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Successful applicants will be required to obtain an enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the DBS and a range of other recruitment checks.
