Nursery Assistant

Location: Halifax

Hours: Wednesday & Thursday, 9:00am - 3:00pm

Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour

Contract Type: Temporary - Ongoing

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Nursery Assistant to join a friendly and supportive nursery setting in Halifax. This is a part-time, ongoing temporary role ideal for someone who is passionate about early years education and enjoys helping young children learn, play, and develop.

Requirements
  • Experience working within a nursery or early years environment
  • Enhanced DBS (on the update service preferred, or willingness to obtain one)
  • Knowledge of EYFS guidelines
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A caring, patient, and positive attitude
  • Ability to follow safeguarding procedures at all times
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day running of the nursery room
  • Assist with planning, setting up, and supervising age-appropriate activities
  • Engage children in play, learning, and social development
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment
  • Provide support with meals, personal care, and hygiene routines
  • Observe and record children's progress following EYFS guidance
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are met at all times
  • Help with preparing resources and tidying the environment at the end of the day
