A family-run group of nurseries in Wimbledon is seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead and oversee operations across multiple sites. Working 30-40 hours, days and hours to be agreed, year-round, onsite role across all 3 sites Southfields & Wimbledon Park (SW19)

A family-run group of nurseries in Southfields and Wimbledon Park (SW19, famous for tennis).

We are looking for an experienced Area Manager (Early Years Degree - desirable). This is an excellent opportunity for an existing Area Manager or high-performance Nursery Manager with 2 years plus experience in a managerial role, and with some demonstrable experience in management of any operations in a nursery setting to showcase their leadership and management skills, and it can be a great steppingstone in your career! To oversee the operational running of the Nurseries.

To provide leadership, management, wellbeing support, performance management and professional development to the management team.

To oversee the implementation of the curriculum, educational programmes, extracurricular activities and overall impact of weekly planning

To give support and guidance to the management team in achieving high standards of care, education, safeguarding, health and safety and other compliance in the settings they manage.

The candidate will provide relevant training to staff teams around curriculum, safeguarding, SEN, behaviour, policies or others.

Work closely with HR and Recruitment to support talent acquisition efforts

Candidate will be the DSL ensuring regular review of accidents and incidents with managers, taking the lead on handling reported concerns from parents / staff / public, ensuring effective and safe record keeping and storage of safeguarding related processes, attending any relevant safeguarding multi-agency meetings and attending any LA Network meetings and training.

Candidate will be the SENCO Lead with oversight of others across all settings ensuring regular

observation of children currently experiencing delay (working alongside management to achieve this), implementation and review of SEN Support Plans, supporting Key People in their roles, working with parents, liaising with external agencies including LA Inclusion teams, facilitating any necessary multi-agency meetings, attending any LA Network meetings or training.

Support managers to achieve a 5* FSA rating across all settings

The candidate will be expected to organise, facilitate and lead relevant training on Staff Inset Days to groups of up to 70 people

Review Policies for effectiveness and ensure consistent implementation

The candidate will provide strategic support for the waiting list and working with the Directors on turnover and cost control.

The candidate may be required to cover in any absence of other senior roles.

Engaging in day-to-day communication and relationships with both Managers and Directors

Requirements

Experienced candidates with an Early Years Degree (desirable)

GCSE or Functional Skills in Maths and English (essential)

2 years in a managerial role, and some demonstratable experience in management of any operations in a nursery setting (essential)

DSL & SENCO trained (essential)

Requires expertise in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel (essential)

Positive attitude

Available to work all year round
