Nurse Team Manager - Endoscopy

We are seeking a Nurse Team Manager who shares our ambition to be trusted for delivering consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. In this pivotal role, you will be an experienced and highly skilled clinical nurse with responsibility for the operational and clinical management of the Endoscopy Units at The Lister Hospital and the QEII. You will provide strong, visible leadership across both sites, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient services through effective teamwork and collaboration.

As an established clinical leader with specialist expertise in endoscopy nursing, you will oversee and develop the departmental workforce, ensuring excellence in patient care and the continuous improvement of services. You will lead on workforce planning, policy development, and compliance with Health & Safety and infection prevention standards, while maintaining accreditation requirements. The role also involves providing specialist training, supervising junior staff, and contributing directly to patient care. You will work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, champion equality and diversity, and keep your professional practice current in line with NMC standards.

Qualifications / Training
  • Registered nurse on part 1 of the NMC register.
  • Relevant clinical post registration education to include a recognized Mentorship qualification.
  • JETs/GIM accredited endoscopy nurse or relevant competences and training.
  • Relevant degree or working towards Degree.
  • Managerial and leadership qualification /relevant experience
Previous Experience
  • Registered Nurse with proven recent experience at Band 6 in the endoscopy setting.
  • Evidence of an understanding in expenditure and budget management.
  • Involvement in audit/research and willingness to present findings at meetings and conferences.
Skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at a complex level excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent clinical knowledge and skills, of endoscopy working including PEG, ERCP, Scoping.
  • Ability to advocate for all patients, particularly vulnerable patients.
  • Ability to manage self and others in delivery of own work and related clinical outcomes to meet departmental expectations.
  • Demonstrate evidence of strong leadership and motivational skills, ability to lead and motivate large clinical team
  • Demonstrate, sound organisational skills and ability to work effectively in a devolved management structure.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and autonomously.
  • Performance management skills, including understanding of and invoking disciplinary procedure.
  • Research and development including presentation at national and international conferences.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of current Trust wide and BSG and JAG requirements for endoscopy
  • Proactive in the understanding of risk management, health and safety and other clinical governance issues.
  • Evidence, understanding and insight into current issues in nursing and the NHS Knowledge of local and national health care initiatives/innovation to improve patient care, experience and safety.
  • Demonstrates ability to influence and manage successfully Clinical expert and role model IT skills - understanding windows, word, excel and PowerPoint In depth understanding of product procurement process.
