A leading mental health organization in Brompton seeks a qualified health-care professional to join their Mental Health Support Teams. The role involves delivering CBT interventions in schools, supporting junior staff, and working collaboratively with education staff. Applicants must be eligible for the CYP-IAPT Supervisor course and ideally be registered with BABCP or BPS. This position offers flexibilities such as job sharing and part-time hours for a better work-life balance.
Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) are a new government initiative to increase children and young people’s access to support for emotional wellbeing and mental health. MHSTs are part of the national Children and Young People’s Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP‑IAPT) programme.
Three main functions:
The post holder will support the direct delivery of the MHST service in schools and support junior staff. This includes delivering CBT interventions for anxiety, low mood and behavioural problems individually and in groups, maintaining an individual caseload and providing supervision to junior colleagues.
Applicants must be eligible for the CYP‑IAPT Supervisor course – please see KCL or UOS websites – and be a graduate qualified health‑care professional (e.g. Nurse, CWP, EMHP, Social Worker, IAPT CBT Therapist or OT). Registration or application to BABCP or BPS is required; sponsorship is not offered for all job roles.
Where not previously completed, the service will support enrolment on a supervisor’s course at one of our affiliated universities. Supervisory training will enhance skills to support EMHP and CWP junior colleagues to undertake their clinical roles and register with professional bodies.

All new starters join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undergo a comprehensive induction lasting up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and equipment allocation. The induction includes meetings with the executive team, senior managers and drop‑in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing, and key processes. The induction takes place at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary period applies to the position.
