Job description

Three main functions:

  • Work in collaboration with education staff to develop and implement a Whole School Approach (WSA) to emotional wellbeing and mental health, including identifying priorities for WSA and supporting delivery.
  • Offer support and guidance to schools, promoting joint working with other services to ensure that children and young people receive the support they need.
  • Support junior staff and wellbeing practitioners to maintain registration, requiring completion of the CYP‑IAPT Supervisor (low intensity) training or equivalent.
Role Summary

The post holder will support the direct delivery of the MHST service in schools and support junior staff. This includes delivering CBT interventions for anxiety, low mood and behavioural problems individually and in groups, maintaining an individual caseload and providing supervision to junior colleagues.

Applicants must be eligible for the CYP‑IAPT Supervisor course – please see KCL or UOS websites – and be a graduate qualified health‑care professional (e.g. Nurse, CWP, EMHP, Social Worker, IAPT CBT Therapist or OT). Registration or application to BABCP or BPS is required; sponsorship is not offered for all job roles.

Additional Responsibilities

Where not previously completed, the service will support enrolment on a supervisor’s course at one of our affiliated universities. Supervisory training will enhance skills to support EMHP and CWP junior colleagues to undertake their clinical roles and register with professional bodies.

Use of AI during the recruitment process is governed by an attached acceptable‑use document.
