Qualifications

Job Overview

AtkinsRéalis is looking to grow our team of process engineers within the Nuclear EMEA business. If you have the passion to join some of these exciting projects, then we would love to hear from you. Your role: We work collaboratively to solve technical challenges across the entire project lifecycle, from concept design to decommissioning. Our day‑to‑day activities include production of process engineering deliverables (process sizing calculations, heat & material balances, P&IDs, etc.), process modelling, and process safety activities (HAZID/HAZOP studies, DSEAR assessments, etc.). We collaborate across the AtkinsRéalis business to provide our technical expertise where it is needed the most, giving our clients the best engineering solutions. We strengthen the delivery of work through a variety of means, including full‑time embedded resource within client offices, site‑based roles, and in‑house engineering support from AtkinsRéalis offices. At all times we are focused on providing high quality work to the client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively to solve technical challenges across the entire project lifecycle, from concept design to decommissioning.
  • Produce process engineering deliverables such as process sizing calculations, heat & material balances, P&IDs, etc.
  • Conduct process modelling and process safety activities, including HAZID/HAZOP studies and DSEAR assessments.
  • Provide technical expertise across the AtkinsRéalis business, delivering high‑quality engineering solutions to clients.
  • Strengthen delivery of work through embedded resources, site‑based roles, and in‑house engineering support.
Key Qualifications
  • Applicants from diverse backgrounds and skills are welcomed; a strengths‑based approach to interviewing is used.
  • Ability to lead a small team of engineers, understand commercial aspects of our work, and be confident in front of clients.
  • BEng or MEng in Chemical or Process Engineering; IChemE chartership preferred.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry is ideal; an understanding of nuclear basics is expected.
  • Specific technical skills such as chemical process simulation software packages and model‑based systems approach (MBSA) projects are valued.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
