Job description

We're seeking a dedicated individual to support all product development activities across various categories of our chilled range. The successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end processes of Existing Product Development (EPD) and New Product Development (NPD), ensuring timely and complete delivery.

You'll be involved in the full Concept to Launch process, analyzing category data to identify opportunities for Myton Food Group and staying updated on market trends to ensure Morrisons products remain best in class. Regular benchmarking sessions will be part of your role to ensure targets are met. The position is primarily based at our Wakefield (Bakery) manufacturing site, with occasional meetings at the Myton Head Office in Bradford and site visits to other locations and suppliers. Some weekend work during peak seasons may be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the concept to launch process
  • Assist the NPD Specialist and Manager in delivering the Site Product Development Plan
  • Participate in customer research listening groups and debriefs
  • Provide concise category analysis using trusted data sources
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure bakery products are industry-leading
  • Work with technical experts to ensure product quality for all customers
  • Ensure products are profitably priced and meet margin expectations
  • Prepare and price products and samples accurately and promptly for customer presentations
About You

You should have a passion for food, with a keen eye for detail. Knowledge of the bakery market and experience in food development are preferred. Strong relationship-building skills, the ability to influence stakeholders, enthusiasm, and commercial judgment are essential for success in this role.
