Non Medical Endoscopist Trainee Post – Band 6 Annex 21 para 2 (i), Gastroenterology Team, Ninewells Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Be an integral member of the Gastroenterology specialist nursing team.
  • Carry a caseload of patients with predominantly gastro-intestinal disease.
  • Initially carry out diagnostic/therapeutic colonoscopy and Capsule Sponge where appropriate.
  • Collaborate across health care boundaries; participate in leadership, maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Engage in research, education, audit and the JAG quality assurance programme as part of the role.
Role Details
  • The post holder will be based at Ninewells but will be expected to work across NHS Tayside.
  • Training as a Non-Medical Endoscopist will be provided; on successful completion of the Non-Medical Endoscopy Training Programme (starting September 2025) the post holder will work independently as a Non-Medical Endoscopist and the role will become a substantive Band 7 (£50,861 to £59,159 per annum).
  • This post is subject to Annex 21 para 2 (i) trainee contract.
Qualifications and Registration
