Job summary

A national governing body for aquatic sports is seeking a Non-Executive Director (Safeguarding) to provide strategic leadership and oversight on safeguarding matters. This voluntary role involves advising the Board and enhancing the safeguarding culture to ensure positive experiences in aquatic sports. The ideal candidate will have substantial safeguarding expertise and a strong commitment to equality and inclusion. Travel expenses are reimbursed.

Qualifications

• Extensive senior-level safeguarding expertise, ideally in sport or education.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practices.
• Open-minded and able to constructively challenge.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic safeguarding and welfare insight to inform decisions.
• Advise the Board on safeguarding risks and emerging practices.
• Champion Swim England's Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan.
