Nights Operations Manager

£60,000 - £65,000 + night shift allowance + bonus

Monday to Friday - 8 hour shifts

A brand-new opportunity for an experienced warehouse or logistics leader to take full ownership of night operations within a large, highly automated distribution centre. This is a high-impact role where you’ll be the senior decision-maker onsite overnight, leading large teams and ensuring the smooth running of a fast-paced operation.

We’re looking for an inspiring Nights Operations Manager to take charge of a major UK night operation. With a facility spanning over 500,000 sq ft, this site plays a critical role during peak season and beyond.

This is an opportunity for someone who thrives on responsibility, visibility, and operational challenge. You’ll be the senior leader onsite through the night, accountable for everything that happens across operations, control, planning, safety, and colleague engagement.

The Role

• Lead all nightshift activity across operations, planning, and control
• Manage and develop Team Leaders and colleagues (circa 450 people per shift)
• Be highly visible on the shop floor - driving performance, safety, and engagement
• Solve operational challenges in real time, from staffing to service issues
• Improve processes, cost efficiency, and workflow across picking, packing & despatch
• Ensure clear communication and reporting to day leadership
• Champion a strong safety culture across the site

Candidate Profile

• Experience in warehousing, logistics, or distribution
• Strong people leadership skills and confidence managing large teams
• Hands‑on, calm under pressure, and comfortable making big decisions
• Good understanding of warehouse processes, automation, and WMS
• Ambitious, resilient, and ready for a step up
