An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join a newly opened 24 hour hospital in Leicestershire, proudly launched in 2024 and designed specifically to deliver outstanding emergency and critical care. This modern, purpose built facility is equipped with exceptional technology including a full orthopaedic kit, brand new ultrasound, digital and dental X-ray suites, endoscopy, tonometry and everything expected in a progressive ECC environment, giving clinicians the tools they need to practise at the highest level.
This is a sole charge night role, ideal for a confident all‑rounder who thrives on variety and enjoys the autonomy of managing a wide range of emergency medical and surgical cases. The position offers genuine clinical freedom, the opportunity to make impactful decisions during out‑of‑hours care, and exposure to a rewarding and diverse ECC caseload where no two nights are the same.
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will be RCVS registered, comfortable working sole charge, and passionate about delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients. Strong clinical judgement, calm leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively with the nursing team are essential, alongside a commitment to maintaining high clinical and professional standards and contributing to a progressive clinical culture.
Beyond the clinical challenge, this role offers true work‑life balance, with night working providing freedom, flexibility, and uninterrupted time outside of work to enjoy life away from the hospital. For an experienced ECC vet seeking autonomy, modern facilities, and the chance to make a real difference when it matters most, this is an outstanding opportunity to join a forward‑thinking hospital at an exciting stage of its journey!
