Qualifications

At Grundon, we are on the lookout for a dynamic, passionate, and driven Transport Supervisor to join our Transport night shift team based in Colnbrook.

Reporting into the Operations Manager you will play a key role in driving our mission forward by supporting the safe and efficient operation of Colnbrook Depot's waste collection services while carrying out supervisory duties.

What will you do
  • Support the supervision of employees, promoting professionalism, positive morale, and ongoing development.
  • Apply all Compliance, Health & Safety, and HR policies consistently, while actively promoting strong safety and security awareness.
  • Deliver effective training for new starters and identify ongoing training needs across the team.
  • Would need to address any issues early, and maintain accurate attendance monitoring.
  • Hold regular meetings and toolbox talks to encourage feedback, share updates, and support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure accurate recording and management of mobile workers' hours in full legal compliance and report all accidents and injuries promptly with appropriate follow-up.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Company policies and procedures including health and safety and employment.
  • Any other duties, such as ad hoc projects, as requested by the job holder's Manager / Supervisor or the Board of Directors that are within the skills and capabilities of the job holder.

About You
  • Must have a full clean driving licence, with LGV Class 2 (category C) entitlement
  • Preferably, a minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role within the waste management industry, demonstrating proven success and effectiveness.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and engage with employees and customers.
  • Proficient in IT systems (Word, Excel, Outlook, databases) with strong numerical skills.
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation, including Health & Safety, EU Drivers' Hours.
  • Ability to adapt and improve systems and processes, with good geographical knowledge of the depot's operating area; FORS experience is an advantage.
