Job summary

A leading transport and logistics company in Greater London is seeking a confident night shift controller responsible for allocating and planning crew movements. The ideal candidate will have experience in transport operations, knowledge of the London area, and strong customer relationship skills. A degree in business administration or equivalent experience is required. This role includes managing driver shifts, monitoring service performance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.

About The Role

Transdev are looking for a confident night shift controller who will be responsible for allocating, planning, and resourcing the CCH crew movements in accordance with the winter and summer schedules. Ensure that the service is delivered within agreed budgetary limitations, whilst complying with service level agreements, statutory requirements, and company policies.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities :
  • Allocate and manage driver shifts and vehicle movements efficiently
  • Monitor service performance and address operational issues
  • Communicate with emergency services and internal teams
  • Handle complaints, lost property, and record-keeping
  • Prepare next-day rotas and maintain accurate reports
  • Ensure drivers are fit for duty and compliant with regulations
  • Oversee health & safety and report incidents or hazards
  • Comply with health & safety directives and policies
  • Occasionally perform driving duties and support other controllers
About You

The successful candidate will have evidence of working as a team, experience communicating with stakeholders, excellent planning, organising, prioritisng and critical thinking skills, additionally you will have the following essential skills :

  • Previous experience in transport or control room operations
  • Working knowledge of the London and Heathrow geographical area
  • Understanding of EU and Domestic driving hours
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent Customer relationship skills and People management skills
  • First Aid and Fire Warden trained (desirable)
In addition, you will also need :
  • Degree in business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • A collaborator with an eye for continuous improvement.
  • Clean DBS (Criminal Background Record)
