Qualifications

  • Ability to work nights in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high standards of inpatient care.

Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Night Patient Care Assistant to support our veterinary team in providing exceptional care to our inpatients. You will work alongside a small, close-knit team of vets, nurses, and patient care assistants, helping to care for patients across our medical ward, cattery, surgical ward, and ICU.

Shift Pattern
  • 7 nights on / 7 nights off
  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday: 8:30pm - 6:00am
  • Friday & Saturday: 8:30pm - 8:00am
  • 33.5 hours
You will be:

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing high standards of inpatient care
  • Assisting with patient restraint when required
  • Supporting medication dispensing under direction
  • Maintaining excellent infection control standards
  • Carrying out housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Cleaning and closing down clinical areas at the end of shifts
  • Managing inventory and stock levels
  • Packaging and processing laboratory samples
  • Performing basic administrative tasks
  • Answering phone calls and assisting with front desk duties
  • Supporting other hospital departments as required
  • Working collaboratively within a small multidisciplinary team
