Job description
Overview

Registered Night Nurse — Location: Westgate House, Wallingford, OX10 8FE. Pay rate: £24.89 per hour (Mon-Fri), £25.89 per hour (Weekends). Contracted hours: 30.62 hours per week. Monday - Friday working alternate weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the care team on shift to ensure high standards of nursing and personal care are met, providing clinical leadership and guidance where necessary.
  • Deliver, monitor, and re-evaluate care needs in partnership with each resident, their key carers, family members, and the wider team at the home.
  • Liaise effectively with GPs, hospitals, and external agencies.
  • Work in a nurturing, engaging, and rewarding environment while developing clinical skills and opportunities for career progression.
  • Provide care in a setting offering respite, dementia, nursing, and residential care.
About You / Qualifications
  • Qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) currently registered with the NMC.
  • Post-registration experience with evidence of continuing professional development; able to work autonomously.
  • Clear understanding of regulatory frameworks; willingness to train in: medication administration, catheterisation, end of life care, verification of death, syringe drivers, gastrostomy care, venepuncture, diabetic awareness, tissue viability, epilepsy awareness, and management of deterioration – sepsis awareness.
  • Positive role model with excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships; supportive leader who motivates the team to deliver high-quality care.
