At Goldenkeys Recruitment we proudly partner with some of the UK’s most prestigious luxury hotels and private estates. We’re currently working with a truly unique luxury country house hotel nestled in the Hampshire countryside known for its exquisite design, deep commitment to sustainability and world‑class guest experience.

We are now looking to introduce a Night Maintenance Engineer to their talented Engineering team. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a forward‑thinking property that values craftsmanship, calm professionalism and exceptional attention to detail even after hours.

The Role

As a Night Engineer you will be the go‑to person for all maintenance‑related needs during night hours, ensuring the hotel operates smoothly and safely while guests rest. You’ll be both hands‑on and proactive maintaining facilities, resolving technical issues and supporting emergency response procedures when needed.

This role is 20:00 pm to 5:00 am, working 5 days out of 7, including weekends, on a rota basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle overnight guest maintenance requests with efficiency and discretion.
  • Carry out general repairs including lighting, plumbing, painting and basic electrical tasks.
  • Perform regular checks and preventative maintenance across the building.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot hotel power systems and internal appliances.
  • Play an active role in the night emergency response team, including fire system management.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and internal procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to the hotel’s planned maintenance programme.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance or engineering role (hospitality experience in a luxury 4 or 5‑star hotel is desirable).
  • Comfortable working independently and solving problems calmly under pressure.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing systems.
  • Familiarity with health & safety procedures and fire safety protocols.
  • A presentable, respectful team player with strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to work night shifts on a rotational basis.
