  • Attend all intruder alarms and maintain safety.
  • Liaise with emergency services as required.

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Night Facilities Float to work at Ladywell Unit for the Facilities Department, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will work with the Facilities Team Leader to provide a front of house, fully comprehensive, professional, and courteous Facilities service for the stakeholders of the Site and Community Sites.

Responsibilities
  • Man the Main Reception at Ladywell.
  • Collect and deliver post to and from the Trust’s service locations, driving a Trust vehicle.
  • Collect and dispose of clinical and domestic waste from services.
  • Deliver clean and collect soiled linen to wards and departments.
  • Respond to Planet FM requests promptly and prioritise them appropriately, in line with departmental standards.
  • Report defective equipment to the immediate line manager, using MS Office Word/Excel.
  • Provide cover for CCTV monitoring as required.
  • Work night shifts, patrolling grounds in all weather conditions, securing perimeters and Trust buildings, and attending incidents.
  • Attend all intruder alarms while maintaining personal safety.
  • Liaise with emergency services when required and record incidents in an occurrence book.
  • Carry out duties of fire warden.

Working Arrangements

The post holder will work 1900–0700, on a 4 on 4 off shift. This role is primarily aimed at providing a service at Ladywell Unit. The Ladywell Unit is located in Lewisham; the nearest train station is Ladywell (zone 3) with excellent transport links from central London. The post holder may be required to travel and work at other sites if necessary.

Site and Services

As part of the Site’s facilities team, the postholder supports the monitoring of the delivery of hotel services, waste disposal, and the collection and delivery of equipment and clinical items.
