We are looking for a kind, reliable and compassionate Night Care Assistant to join our team at Whitgift House.

About the role

As a Night Care Assistant you will assist in the delivery of person‑centred care and support for residents with their daily living needs, promoting dignity, comfort and independence.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • To provide service users with support and assistance as they accomplish activities of daily living.
  • To ensure that service users are at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences are taken into consideration to enhance their wellbeing.
  • To contribute to the efficient running of the service.
  • To support service users to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community.
  • To ensure care plans and other information about how to support service users are followed.
  • To be responsible for informing the Night Team Leader (Nursing) of any changes in the needs of service users.
  • To be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the service users they support.
  • To support service users with Chronic or Acute conditions.
Working with Others
  • To develop effective working relationships with other employees within the service.
  • To work in cooperation with members of the multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for service users.
  • To maintain and develop relationships with the service users’ family, friends and other people important in their life if desired by the service user.
  • To operate under the guidance of the Registered Nurse at all times.
Personal and Professional Development
  • To understand the regulatory framework that governs the service, including the role of the CQC and its requirements.
  • To commit to achieving the relevant qualifications commensurate with the role.
  • To attend statutory training and any other training as directed by management.
  • To understand and follow all policies and procedures relevant to the role.
  • To adhere to the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England.

Staff Training

All our staff take part in a structured training programme which is tailored to each individual and is geared to help them to offer the high standards of care that are expected in a Whitgift Care home.

Our internal training is run by our dedicated Training Coordinator who ensures that our staff are trained in mandatory subjects. These include:
