A leading healthcare organization in Scotland seeks a Public Involvement and Engagement Manager to develop and manage public engagement for NHS Lothian. This role involves advising on community involvement and collaborating with various stakeholders. This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

If the post is assessed as a "regulated role", your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. We are looking for a talented and creative individual to join our award-winning team to develop and manage public involvement and engagement for NHS Lothian.
NHS Lothian works to help the population of more than 850,000 people live healthier, longer lives so engaging meaningfully with our communities, patients, and their carers and families is vital.
This is a time of tremendous change in the NHS as we work to ensure services remain sustainable, effective and responsive to the changing needs of our population. In this exciting and varied role, you will have the opportunity to work with services and departments across NHS Lothian and to collaborate with colleagues in Local Authorities and neighboring Health Boards. You’ll be advising how best to engage with patients, carers, the Third Sector and the wider public and will have working knowledge of legislation covering public involvement in the NHS as well as Health Improvement Scotland’s Planning with People guidance.
You’ll be motivated by involving people in decisions about their own health and care, as well as helping to shape and influence service provision.
This is the only existing post dedicated to Public Involvement and Engagement in NHS Lothian however we are currently developing a new service model. This is likely to result in the creation of additional posts, so you will be joining at an exciting time of expansion.

You will need:
Excellent working knowledge of legislation and policy relating to public involvement community engagement by NHS Boards.
