As part of our growth in the FoodService sector we are searching for a Product Development Scientist to help us create new products for our FDL business, specialists in Coffee and Fruit syrups and sauces for QSR and Wholesale markets in the UK, Europe and wider.

In this role you will:

  • Develop products as directed by the business, for key FoodService clients
  • Ensure successful launches of new products from approval to first production in line with internal processes and ensuring Customer standards are met
  • Understand relevant factory processes and attend factory trials and product launches
  • Run and document shelf-life trials to set microbiological and organoleptic standards
  • Produce accurate and timely paperwork (trial and shelf-life reports, QASs) and run Critical Paths
  • Liaise with Customers, operations, supply chain, commercial and technical teams
  • Support the Innovation Manager in all aspects of the Innovation process
Your Profile
  • Experience in a food/extract manufacturing experience
  • Have developed new products for clients, from conception, through creation and delivered to clients
  • Knowledge of Food hygiene and HACCP
  • Educated to degree level in Food Science or Technology or similar
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work under pressure
  • Flexibility to travel to other sites, sometimes at short notice
  • Willingness to take responsibility and assist in the training and mentoring of junior colleagues
