A leading educational institution in Birmingham is seeking a Registered Electroencephalogic Technologist. The ideal candidate must possess certifications in EEG technology and have significant experience in long-term monitoring settings. Registered Electroencephalogic Technologist (R. EEG T.) with Certification for Long Term Monitoring (CLTM) by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalogic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) and five (5) years of experience as an ABRET registered or registry eligible Electroencephalogic Technologist (EEGT) with post CLTM experience in Long Term Monitoring (LTM) in the ambulatory EMU and / or critical care setting required. NeuroAnalyst Certification for Long Term Monitoring (NA-CLTM) by ABRET preferred. Licenses / Certifications / Registrations Currently credentialed as an Electroencephalographic (EEG) Technologist (R. EEG T.) and Long Term Monitoring (CLTM) by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) required.
Pay range : $30.00 - 48.70 / Hourly

General Responsibilities. Working a flexible schedule of 10-12 hours including weekends to evaluate, analyze and classify ictal, interictal and paroxysmal events from EEG/video data. To recognize physiologic and nonphysiologic artifacts. To write detailed description of EEG patterns, seizure semiology, ictal and interictal abnormalities and select representative EEG samples. To act as a physician extender in collaboration with the supervising physician and other health care staff. To apply extensive knowledge in neuroanesthesia and its application to neuromonitoring. To demonstrate knowledge of all aspects of invasive implants preoperatively, intraoperatively and postoperatively including but not limited to electrode setup, montage creation/verification, troubleshooting hook-up and discontinuation and simulation for cortical mapping.
