Job summary

A leading government contractor is seeking a skilled Contract .NET Developer for a remote position. You will contribute to the development of a secure web application currently in its Alpha/Beta phase. Overview

We're seeking a skilled .NET Developer to join a public sector programme, contributing to the development and delivery of a secure web application currently in its Alpha/Beta phase. This is a hands-on contract role focused on building robust, scalable solutions using modern Microsoft technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Development

• Build and maintain .NET applications using C# and .NET 6+
• Develop responsive web interfaces using Razor syntax
• Integrate with SQL Server and external services
• Ensure code quality through adherence to best practices and standards

Testing

• Write and maintain unit and integration tests
• Collaborate with QA teams to resolve defects and improve coverage
• Support testing cycles and contribute to solution stability

Delivery (Alpha → Live)

• Rapid iteration based on Alpha feedback
• Implement performance improvements and bug fixes
• Prepare production-ready code and deployment scripts
• Participate in go-live planning and execution
• Provide post-launch support during hyper care phase

Required Skills

• Proven experience with .NET 6+ and Razor syntax for web development
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server and Entity Framework, with emphasis on direct SQL querying
• Familiarity with GraphQL (preferred)
• Experience with Power Platform Dataverse for data extraction (preferred)
• Ability to work independently in a remote delivery environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
