Overview

NDT Technician (Phased Array & TOFD)

Salary: Basic from £37,440, Benefits. Location: South Shields, Tyne and Wear.

A large Blue-Chip organisation are currently recruiting for a NDT Technician specialising in Phased Array and TOFD to join their team in the South Shields area. The NDT Technician will be required to carry out a range of NDT inspections to ensure compliance with statutory and/or legislative requirements. As well as working within the South Shields team, you will be working at client sites such as AWL factory, shipyards, manufacturing plants, power stations and gas terminals.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out a range of NDT inspections to ensure compliance with statutory and/or legislative requirements.
  • Interpret and evaluate test results and report findings, including sketches where applicable.
  • Use professional initiative on site while maintaining the highest level of health & safety at all times.
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to plan and execute inspections.
Qualifications
  • PCN Level 2 in Phased Array and TOFD.
  • Experience or additional qualifications in Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, Ultrasonic and Visual Inspections would be beneficial.
  • Experience working on equipment such as compressors, pipework and high‑pressure gauges.
  • Good communication and report writing skills.
  • Ability to organise own working day, unsupervised, and meet different clients on a daily basis.
