Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is pleased to announce the introduction of these new roles aimed at doctors who are passionate about their practice and their career outside traditional models. Our posts will combine education and career development with practical patient‑facing care. An Introduction to the Division/Specialty from Head of Clinical Service An opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and motivated doctor to join our department at an exciting time in our Trusts future. The Department offers a supportive and encouraging environment in which to develop as a professional with opportunities to develop in specialist fields. The vacancy has arisen in the Trauma & Orthopaedics department for a senior orthopaedic trainee (preferably post CCT). The post is available to commence from 28th February 2026 for 12 months. This post has been developed as a training opportunity for registrars preferably post CCT before taking up consultant posts.

Main duties of the job
  • Provision of care with responsibility for the management of patients with acute and chronic conditions including complex cases.
  • Referral of patients to other specialities as appropriate.
  • Out‑patient activities/clinics.
  • Involvement in specialty and cross‑specialty multi‑disciplinary teams and meetings.
  • Involvement in relevant administration duties.
  • Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and other clinicians as appropriate.
  • Active involvement in audit and clinical governance including service improvement activities.
