Part-time Personal Assistant
An 88-year-old lady living in Sully requires a Personal Assistant to support her in her home. She was born in London to an Irish family and moved to Wales many years ago. She now lives with her youngest son and blind and elderly dog. Other family members, a daughter and older son are also actively involved in her life and while they live some distance away, regular contact is maintained. Other interests include attending church (Catholic), theatre, art, music and reading newspapers to keep up to date with current affairs. She likes to attend galleries and exhibitions at National Museum Wales and other recognised art venues.
36 hours per week. Minimum 3 days per week, up to 12 hours per day. Flexible scheduling can be discussed and there will be opportunity for additional hours if desired. Willingness to work weekends and to provide ad‑hoc overnight care if requested with reasonable notice.
£14.00 per hour
Mileage of 40p per mile
Though a part‑time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid 4 weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).
