About the Role

We are seeking a Multiskilled Shift Engineer with an electrical bias and strong mechanical capability to join our dedicated engineering team on a highly regulated pharmaceutical site. This is a critical role ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of essential building services and plant equipment, while maintaining compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and stringent safety standards.

What You'll Do
  • Electrical Maintenance & Fault Finding: Planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and diagnostics on electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, control panels and BMS.
  • Mechanical Maintenance: Service and repair of HVAC systems, pumps, motors, compressed air systems and water treatment plant.
  • Building Services: Maintain plumbing, drainage and general building systems.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all work meets regulatory and site standards, with accurate record‑keeping.
  • Shift Operations: Respond to breakdowns and maintain operational continuity across the site.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and reliability of plant and equipment.
About You
Essential
  • Recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent (City & Guilds 2365, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation).
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Proven mechanical maintenance experience (HVAC, pumps, motors, compressed air systems).
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and team collaboration.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts (days and nights).
Desirable
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
  • F‑Gas certification.
  • PLC controls and automation experience.
  • Steam systems and boiler operation knowledge.
  • Confined space and working at height training.
  • GMP experience in pharmaceutical or regulated environments.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualification.
