Job description

We are seeking a skilled and versatile Multi‑Trades Person with proven experience in the social housing sector. The ideal candidate will be an expert in one core trade — Plumbing, Roofing, or Joinery — while also possessing hands‑on skills in at least one additional trade, making them a reliable all‑rounder capable of delivering high‑quality maintenance and repair services across domestic properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and refurbishment works in social housing properties.
  • Deliver high‑quality workmanship across your primary trade (Plumbing, Roofing, or Joinery).
  • Undertake secondary trade tasks such as plastering, tiling, painting, decorating, or basic electrical work.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues efficiently, ensuring minimal disruption to tenants.
  • Ensure all works comply with current building regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service, liaising with tenants and housing officers in a professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to meet deadlines and performance targets.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order.
Qualifications & Skills
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Plumbing, Roofing, or Joinery.
  • Demonstrable experience in social housing repairs and maintenance.
  • Hands‑on ability in at least one additional trade (e.g., plastering, tiling, decorating, basic electrics).
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety practices, including risk assessments.
  • Clean UK driving licence.
  • Clean DBS check.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to varied tasks.
  • Good communication skills with a customer‑focused approach.
