We are seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the on‑site Engineering Team. This is a hands‑on position responsible for maintaining, servicing and improving a wide range of plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation.
The ideal candidate will be electrically biased with strong mechanical capability, excellent fault‑finding skills and the ability to work confidently from technical drawings and documentation. This role offers variety, autonomy and the chance to contribute to ongoing engineering improvement across the site.
Carry out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance activities
Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Develop and follow maintenance schedules and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Manage critical spare parts and support inventory control
Interpret and work from technical documentation including isometric drawings, P&IDs and blueprints
Diagnose faults, identify required parts and complete mechanical and electrical repairs
Liaise with external contractors and suppliers for service, repair and equipment upgrades
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, Feed Safety and Quality regulations
Support site operations flexibly, including occasional weekend and overtime work as required
Essential:
Electrical/electronic background with strong fault‑finding experience
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and P&IDs
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering or instrumentation discipline
Competent in MIG/TIG welding
Solid mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Experience in food, packaging or process manufacturing environments
Forklift truck licence
